STRATFORD – Stratford won nine matches by pin as it rolled to a 76-3 victory over Pittsville in a Marawood Conference wrestling dual Thursday night at Stratford High School.
A.J. Schoenfuss (120 pounds), Derek Marten (132), Mason Kauffman (152) and Tyson Kauffman (285) all earned pins in the first period of their respective matches for Stratford (5-0 Marawood).
Also earning pins for the Tigers were Jordan Becker (138), Sam Wenzel (145), Kyle Giebel (195), and Jon Aguirre (220).
“The kids wrestled really well today,” Stratford coach Joe Schwabe said. “I’m happy how they attacked on offense and did some things we worked on in practice. Pittsville has some really good wrestlers that are state ranked, so winning like this showed what kind of night Stratford had.”
Stratford competes at the New Lisbon Duals on Saturday.
