Point-Rapids-Marshfield drops WIAA girls hockey sectional semifinal to Central Wisconsin Storm

WESTON – The Central Wisconsin Storm scored early and often, piling up three goals in both the first and second periods, to down Point-Rapids-Marshfield 6-1 in a WIAA girls hockey sectional semifinal on Tuesday night at the Greenheck Ice Arena.

Katelynn Schilling and Katelyn Ramthun each had two goals, and Emily Bauer had a goal and three assists for the Storm (20-4-1).

Point-Rapids-Marshfield’s only goal came with 2:11 remaining in the game by Hailey Ehr on an assist from Bryar Brooks.

Madi Hall had 22 saves and Chloe Kreuser had seven saves in goal for Point-Rapids-Marshfield (7-16-2).

Central Wisconsin moves on to a sectional final at Northland Pines in Eagle River on Friday. The winner advances to the 2016 WIAA State Girls Hockey Tournament in Madison on March 5-6. Central Wisconsin is looking for its ninth-straight trip to the state tournament.
