Spencer boys basketball drops road game at Pittsville

PITTSVILLE – Pittsville shot an efficient 73 percent from the field and defeated Spencer 57-42 in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday night at Pittsville High School.

Matthew Carlson was 8 of 10 from the field and scored a team-high 18 points, and Donny Grossman made all eight of his shots and added 17 points for the Panthers (2-1).

Pittsville led 31-20 at halftime and held on the rest of the way.

Jack Bezlyk led Spencer with 21 points, the only Rocket to score in double figures.

Spencer plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Owen-Withee on Thursday.
