Marshfield boys hockey loses at Mosinee

MOSINEE – Mosinee scored three unanswered goals during a 8-minute stretch to pull away to beat Marshfield 5-3 in a nonconference boys hockey game Tuesday.

Colton Lewens scored with 5½ minutes to go in the second period to put Mosinee ahead for good, and Michael Alfonsi added two more scores to give the Indians a 4-1 lead.

Blaine Neinast and Zach Schmidt scored in the third period to pull the Tigers to within a goal, but Mosinee finished off the game with a goal in the final seconds.

Neinast also scored the Tigers’ first goal of the game.

Haydon Roy-Peterson had 21 saves in goal for Marshfield (2-7-1).

Marshfield hosts Medford in another nonconference game Friday.
