Auburndale girls basketball edges Athens to win fourth in a row

ATHENS – The Auburndale girls basketball team improved to 4-0 this season with a narrow 44-42 victory over Athens in a nonconference game Thursday night at Athens High School.

Isabelle Hilber had 14 points, six steals and five assists, and Maggie Willfahrt added 11 points for the Apaches. Hannah Bolder added 11 rebounds and six points in the win.

Auburndale led by six at halftime and was able to hold on despite making just 7 of 16 free throws and turning the ball over 19 times.

Auburndale hosts Marathon in a big Marawood Conference South Division matchup Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
