MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls tennis team opened its season by going 2-1 and finishing in third place at the Columbus Invite on Saturday at the Boson Courts and Oak Street Courts.
The Dons opened play with a 7-0 whipping of Fox Valley Lutheran.
Columbus lost its next match, 4-3 to Onalaska Luther, dropping two tiebreakers.
The Dons rebounded with a 6-1 win over Unity.
Elizabeth Manlick (No. 1 singles), Haley Orella and Angie Seubert (No. 1 doubles), Nikki Hertel and Abby Gotz (No. 2 doubles) and Jerra Kumm (No. 4 singles) went undefeated in the tournament.
Columbus opens play in the Great Northern Conference on Tuesday at the Boson Courts against Phillips.
