Marshfield fourth at 2018 Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Swimming Meet

STEVENS POINT – D.C. Everest rolled to the team title to earn its first-ever Wisconsin Valley Conference championship at the 2018 Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Swimming Meet on Thursday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Everest racked up 350 points to easily outdistance itself from Stevens Point (263) and Wisconsin Rapids (251). Marshfield earned fourth place with 205 points, two ahead of Wausau East.

Stevens Point had won the previous six WVC meets and last five overall conference titles.

Myles Jensen had Marshfield’s top finish, taking second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.48.

Jensen also teamed with Nathan Albanito, Jeffrey Berres and Ethan Dagit to take third in the 400 freestyle in 3:43.12 for the Tigers.

Dagit took fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.48), Albanito was fifth in the 100 butterlfy (1:02.33), and Jacob Dick finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.57 and fifth in the 200 IM (2:18.63) for Marshfield’s other top-five finishes.

Marshfield will compete at the WIAA Division 1 sectional at UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 10.
