First-place D.C. Everest holds off Marshfield girls basketball

SCHOFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team had first-place D.C. Everest on the ropes but couldn’t hold on in the second half and dropped a 48-42 decision to the Evergreens in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Friday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Marshfield led 25-24 at halftime, but scored only 17 points in the second half in the loss.

D.C. Everest is now 15-3 overall and remains unbeaten at 10-0 in the WVC. Marshfield drops to 8-10 and 4-6 in conference play.

Jenna Jakobi scored 14 points for lead Marshfield.

The Tigers host Chippewa Falls in a nonconference game Tuesday.
