Marshfield boys golf seventh at Merrill Invite

MERRILL – The Marshfield boys golf team entered two teams into the Merrill Invitational on Saturday and placed seventh and 10th out of the 13-team field at Merrill Golf Course.

Wausau West won the meet with a score of 322, nine shots ahead of Lakeland. Marshfield’s first team was seventh with a 361 and the second team had a 384.

Ben Baur shot a 74 to lead the Tigers and finished third overall behind Josh Yang of Wausau West (71) and Russell Dettmering of Merrill (73).

Nate Boson added a 93, Jaxon Bulgrin shot a 96, and Josh Gruen had a 98 to round out the No. 1 team for Marshfield.

Ian Haugen had a 90, Cole Hanson shot a 95, Jeffery Berres had a 98, and Seth Peterson had a 101 for Marshfield’s No. 2 team.

Marshfield will compete at the sixth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.
