MARSHFIELD – Alyssa Franks won the 500-yard freestyle for Marshfield’s only event victory in a 111-59 loss to Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swimming dual meet Thursday at Marshfield High School.
Franks won the 500 in 5:44.64 for the Tigers’ lone win.
Franks took second in the 200 individual medley in 2:30.36 as well, one of five individual runner-up finishes for Marshfield.
Hope Risa was second in the 200 freestyle (2:12.90) and the 100 freestyle (1:01.60); Kaitlin Alberts finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:09.22) and the 100 backstroke (1:06.61); and Tara Kracht was second in the 100 breastroke (1:19.61) for the Tigers.
Marshfield was also second in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
The Tigers are at Wausau West on Oct. 4.
