WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep of Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a nonconference match Thursday.

The Dons didn’t lose a set, and only dropped a total of 17 games in seven matches, to improve to 6-6 in dual meets.

Elizabeth Manlick swept Samantha Roth 6-0, 6-0, to continue her strong start to the season for the Dons at No. 1 singles.

All three Columbus doubles teams – Nikki Hertel and Abby Gotz at No. 1, Haley Orella and Angie Seubert at No. 2, and Maddy Havican and Cassidy Schlinsog at No. 3 – each lost just one game in their two-set sweeps.

Columbus will make up a postponed match at Medford on Friday and host Rhinelander next Tuesday in a pair of Great Northern Conference duals.
