Columbus tennis edges Medford

MEDFORD – Elizabeth Manlick rolled again at No. 1 singles and the Columbus Catholic girls tennis team swept the three doubles matches to edge Medford 4-3 in a Great Northern Conference dual meet Friday.

Manlick whipped Becca Reusch 6-0, 6-1 to continue her dominating start to the season.

The Dons’ No. 3 doubles team of Cassidy Schlinsog and Maddy Havican had a come-from-behind win over Tori Walsh and Hailey Brost. After losing the first set 7-6, the Columbus duo recovered to win the final two sets with ease, 6-1, 6-0.

Columbus hosts Rhinelander on Tuesday and Antigo on Thursday in a pair of GNC dual meets.
