NEILLSVILLE – Auburndale’s Danica Harrison won the girls meet with a time of 16:21.5 and teammate Sam Karl finished seventh to help the Apaches girls team take second place Tuesday at the Neillsville Warrior Invitational.
Harrison won by 18 seconds over Haley Steig of Osseo-Fairchild. Tory Palmer of Pittsville was third.
Mondovi won the team title with 63 points, followed by Auburndale with 82.
Emma Steines was 15th for the Apaches in 18:06.9.
The Auburndale boys took third with 95 points, led by Luke Haas’ third-place finish in 17:45.7. David Haas was 12th in 18:31.9.
“Overall, I am very happy with the top four boys,” Auburndale coach Jim Johnson said. “They ran a solid team race for us.
“Danica Harrison ran another good race, and the girls fought through some head colds to get into second place.”
