Tigers girls hockey looks for upset

The Marshfield High School girls hockey team will take aim at pulling off an upset Friday.

The Tigers (7-3-1 overall) play the Central Wisconsin Storm at 5 p.m. Friday in Mosinee. The Storm, ranked third in the state and No. 1 in Sectional 2 by wisconsingirlshockey.net, won at Marshfield 2-1 on Dec. 21.

Marshfield is ranked third in Sectional 2, and all three of its losses have come to teams ranked in the top 10 in the state.

According to wisconsingirlshockey.net, Marshfield leads the state in goals scored per game this season at 6.7 a game.

The Tigers play twice at home next week, hosting Lakeland on Monday and Menomonie on Tuesday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
