HORTONVILLE – The Marshfield boys soccer team’s season came to an end Saturday afternoon as the Tigers lost 2-0 to Hortonville in a WIAA Division 2 regional final at Hortonville High School.

Kaden Bonikowske scored at the 29:59 mark and Chase Coughlin added a goal 12 minutes later for the Polar Bears, and that would be all that was necessary.

Marshfield managed 12 total shots, six on goal, but all six were saved by Hortonville goalie Luke Petrasko as he kept the Tigers off the scoreboard.

Marshfield’s season ends with an 12-7-2 record.

Top-seeded Hortonville (10-7-3) moves on to a sectional semifinal Oct. 31 against either Pulaski or Green Bay East.
