Neillsville outlasts Columbus Catholic in Cloverbelt East girls basketball finale

MARSHFIELD – Neillsville held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to just three made baskets in the second half to finish off a 38-22 win in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball finale for both teams on Monday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Neillsville, winners of the Cloverbelt East title, led 20-13 at halftime and stymied the Dons in the second half to close out the victory.

Alli Schoengarth had 14 points for the Warriors, who are now 19-2 overall and finish 15-1 in the Cloverbelt East.

Meghan Kibbel and Kelsey Moore each had six points for Columbus Catholic (10-11, 9-7 Cloverbelt East).

Columbus will play at Cadott in the fifth-place game of the Cloverbelt Crossovers on Thursday. Neillsville will take on Osseo-Fairchild in the first-place game at Osseo-Fairchild on Saturday night. The Neillsville game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com/live-sports.
