Marshfield’s Nina Hashimoto and Columbus Catholic’s Zachary Olson have been named first-team selections to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Academic All-State teams for the 2019-20 school year.

Senior players were nominated by their respective coaches and must had four years of high school soccer experience with at least two years on the varsity team and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.85 or higher.

Hashimoto was one of 11 players chosen to the first team for the girls, and Olson was among the 11 first-team selections for the boys.

Marshfield’s Paige Preston was an honorable mention choice on the girls team. Preston and Hashimoto are first two players recognized for the all-state academic team from the Marshfield girls program, according to coach Steve Lindner.

“These two are exemplary student-athletes and some of the great people the coaches are privileged to coach,” Lindner said.

MaKenna Halvensleben of Reedsburg was named the girls Academic Player of the Year and A.J. Patrick of Cedarburg was chosen as the boys Academic Player of the Year.
