SEVASTOPOL – Auburndale dominated in its first 8-man football debut, scoring six first-half touchdowns and cruising to a 76-22 win over Sevastopol on Saturday afternoon at Sevastopol High School.
Auburndale rushed for 464 yards and had three players top the 100-yard mark. Terrance Roberson had 177 yards on 11 carries to lead the way. Hunter Wright, the Eagles’ quarterback, ran for 147 yards and five touchdowns on his 10 carries, and Schuyler Gilhausen added 107 yards and a score.
Wright also threw TD passes of 32 and 10 yards to Gilhausen, and Kaden Hoffman had a 5-yard touchdown run for Auburndale.
Auburndale’s next game is Oct. 10 at home with a rematch against Sevastopol.
