Columbus Catholic soccer wins at Wausau Newman

WAUSAU – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team won its second-straight game with a dominating 5-1 win over Wausau Newman Catholic on Tuesday in nonconference action.

Alex Edwards scored in the third minute, and Kellen Delaney and Tyler Linzmeier added goals before halftime to give the Dons a 3-0 lead.

Edwards and Grant Olson scored in the opening 14 minutes of the second half to make it 5-0. Newman scored its only goal with less than 2 minutes left.

Wyatt Drexler saved five of the six shots sent his way in goal for the Dons (5-2, 1-1 Central Wisconsin Conference).

Columbus Catholic’s scheduled game against Gresham/Bowler on Thursday has been cancelled.
