Spencer softball shutout by Edgar

SPENCER – Edgar had eight hits, and took advantage of 11 walks and six errors to down Spencer 20-0 in a nonconference softball game Monday at ARC Park.

Edgar plated five runs in both the first and second innings, added one in the third and finished off the game with a nine-run fourth, ending the game due to the 15-run rule after Spencer failed to score in the bottom of the inning.

Skylee Manecke and Ashley Erickson each had two hits, with Manecke driving in four, and Makayla Wirkus, Karlin Lipinski and Erickson finishing with three RBIs each for Edgar.

Spencer was held to one hit, a single by Elexa Post.

Edgar (9-2) hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday. Spencer (1-9) will be at home against Rib Lake for another nonconference game on Tuesday.
