MARATHON – Auburndale won eight events and Stratford took first in four at the 2021 Marawood Conference Track & Field Meet on Monday at Marathon High School.
The Edgar boys and Marathon girls won the team titles. The Auburndale boys were third and girls fifth, and the Stratford boys took fifth with the girls finishing eighth.
Terrance Roberson won two individual events for the Auburndale boys, and was also part of two relay teams to highlight the Eagles’ performance.
Roberson won the 100 meters in 11.25 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 5½ inches. He also teamed with Parker Empey, Austin Quinlan and Gavin White Eagle to win the 400-meter relay in 45.29 seconds and the 800 realy in 1:34.98.
The girls relay team of Maddie Krings, Annalise Jewell, Aliah Hamus and Josephine Ertl won both the 400 relay (52.84) and the 800 relay (1:53.79).
Other winners for Auburndale were Carl Lundgren in the 3,200 (11:13.77) and Jesse Fowler in the discus (144-10).
The Stratford boys won two events. Drey Drexler was first in the shot put with a toss of 46-7½ and the 3,200 relay team of Elijah Lucio, Lance Krieg, Conner Weigel and Noah Lucio won in 8:58.63.
Jaidyn Wright won a pair of events for the Stratford girls, taking first in the long jump (15-8½), and the triple jump (34-3).
Stratford will compete at a WIAA Division 2 regional at Medford and Auburndale will be at a Division 3 regional at Colby on Monday, June 14.
