WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Four different players drove in two runs each as the Marshfield American Legion baseball team rolled to an 11-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids in the regular-season finale for both teams on Monday night at Witter Field.

Chandler Schmidt continued his hot-hitting by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, Chase Higgins also had three hits and drove in two, and Logan Homolka and Nick Urban both had two RBIs as well for the Blue Devils (11-9).

Dayne Diethelm scattered seven hits in tossing a five-inning complete game shutout for the Blue Devils, who ended Wisconsin Rapids’ nine-game winning streak.

Austin Junemann was 3-for-3 and Caden Sengbusch was 2-for-2 with a walk for Wisconsin Rapids (9-2).

Both teams will open Class AAA regional play at Marshfield on Wednesday. Wisconsin Rapids plays Stevens Point at 1 p.m. and Marshfield will host Wausau at 7 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field in the double-elimination tournament that will run through Saturday.
