MARSHFIELD – Laurens Kersten scored a goal late in the first half to push the Marshfield boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over Pulaski in the Tigers’ season opener on Saturday at Heiting Community Stadium.

Kersten scored off an assist from Keegan Fredrick 30 minutes into the contest and the score held up the rest of the way.

Marshfield hosts Wisconsin Rapids in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Heiting Stadium. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
