MENOMONIE – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team finished 4-3 at the two-day Menomonie Sprawl at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday and Saturday.

Columbus Catholic lost to Turtle Lake 25-23, 21-25, 15-9; River Falls 25-15, 25-17; and New Richmond 25-21, 26-28, 15-6. The Dons defeated Ellsworth 25-17, 25-10; Lakeland 25-22, 25-20; Wausau West 25-27, 25-6, 15-13; and Cameron 25-20, 25-22.

Dorci Walker had 78 kills and 33 digs, Jenna Kibbel added 36 kills, 30 digs and 13 service aces, and Courtney Sommer had 29 kills, 97 assists, eight aces, and 17 digs. Izzy Hoglund led the Dons’ defense with 75 digs in the seven matches.

Columbus Catholic will take some time off from competition before hosting Stratford for a nonconference match on Sept. 9.
