Columbus Catholic volleyball sweeps Spencer, clinches fifth-straight Cloverbelt East championship

SPENCER – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team wrapped up an undefeated Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship with a 3-0 sweep of Spencer on Thursday at Spencer High School.

The Dons won 25-9, 25-15, 25-8, to finish the Cloverbelt East season with a perfect 7-0 record. Columbus did not lose a single set on its way to a fifth-straight conference championship.

Dorci Walker had 17 kills and six digs, Courtney Sommer had four kills and 14 assists, Lily Stratman had eight assists and three service aces, Jenna Kibbel had four kills, eight digs and five aces, and Izzy Hoglund added eight digs for Columbus.

Spencer’s statistics were not reported. The Rockets finish the conference season 0-7.

Both teams will compete in Cloverbelt Conference crossovers next week. Matchups are to be announced.
