WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids had six pins and went on to defeat Marshfield 45-28 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference wrestling dual meet to open the 2021-22 season on Thursday at Lincoln High School.
Landyn Freeman (106 pounds), Preston Spray (120), Aceyn Meyer (132), Brett Back (160), Peter Rucker (220) and Josh Hansen (285) won by pin for Wisconsin Rapids.
Keagan Cliver earned a major decision win at 138 pounds, Hoyt Blaskowski (145), Ryan Dolezal (170) and Camren Dennee (182) had pins, and Brett Franklin (152) earned 4-0 decision for Marshfield’s five victories.
Marshfield will compete at the Stoughton Invitational on Saturday. Wisconsin Rapids will be off until Dec. 9 when it travels to Stevens Point for a WVC dual.
