SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team dropped its season opener to Chequamegon 54-42 in nonconference action Thursday at the Spencer High School Dome.
Kaleb Brandt scored 23 points for the Rockets. Complete game statistics were not reported.
Chequamegon remains perfect this season, improving to 4-0, heading into a Marawood Conference crossover game at Marathon on Friday.
Spencer jumps right back into action with a home Cloverbelt Conference East Division game against Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
