Stratford boys basketball uses strong start to defeat Edgar

STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team dominated the first half, jumping out to a 17-point lead by halftime, and went on to defeat Edgar 53-36 in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Tuesday at Stratford High School.

Stratford pulled out to a 24-7 lead by halftime and was able to maintain its double-digit lead to the end.

Cam Daul had 13 points and seven rebounds, Ashton Wrensch added 11 points, and Devin Ulrich scored nine for the Tigers, who are now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the Marawood South.

Stratford will hosts its annual holiday tournament on Dec. 29-30. The Tigers will play Owen-Withee in a semifinal at 7:15 p.m. Dec. 29, with Bangor taking on Wausau East at 5:45 p.m.
