Columbus Catholic girls basketball pulls away in second half to down Greenwood

GREENWOOD – Jenna Kibbel scored 20 points to lead the Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 50-37 win over Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Greenwood High School.

The Dons led 18-14 at halftime before pulling away in the second half, outscoring Greenwood by nine.

Hailey Zimmerman hit two 3-pointers and added nine points for Columbus Catholic (6-3, 4-1 Cloverbelt East).

Avry Wuethrich had 16 points and Mesa Rasmussen scored 10 for Greenwood (2-7, 1-4 Cloverbelt East).

Both teams host games next Tuesday, Dec. 28. Greenwood plays Alma Center Lincoln in a nonconference game, while Columbus Catholic will be at home against Owen-Withee in Cloverbelt East action.
