Loyal slips past Spencer boys basketball

SPENCER – Loyal edged Spencer 45-42 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday at Spencer High School.

Caleb Rucker scored 12 points, and Kaleb Brandt added nine points and six rebounds for Spencer, which falls to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Jacob Schill scored 11 points to lead Loyal, which won despite making just 8 of 22 free throws. The Greyhounds are now 3-4 overall and 3-2 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer hosts Marathon for a nonconference game next Tuesday, Dec. 28. Loyal will be off until Jan. 7 when it plays at Marshfield Columbus Catholic.
