Spencer grad Hunter Luepke leads North Dakota State to FCS national title

FRISCO, Texas – Spencer High School graduate Hunter Luepke and the North Dakota State University Bison are national champions again after they routed Montana State 38-10 in the FCS championship game Saturday afternoon.

Luepke, a four-sport star at Spencer from 2014-18, is a junior fullback for the Bison. He was named Most Outstanding Player of the game as he rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns. North Dakota State racked up 380 yards on the ground.

Luepke scored on runs of 8, 11 and 6 yards in the first half as the Bison built a 28-0 lead.

The national title is ninth in school history, all coming in the last 11 years, for North Dakota State. The Bison won five-straight titles from 2011-15, and three in a row from 2017-19.
