Marshfield grad Whipple helps St. Norbert women win Midwest Conference title

DE PERE – Marshfield High School graduate Amanda Whipple finished fourth with a new personal-best time of 22:57.88 to help the St. Norbert College women’s cross country team to the team title at the Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30 at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill.

Whipple, a sophomore, repeated her all-conference performance by taking fourth. She was fifth last season for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert won its first women’s title since 2003 as Jenny Scherer (Delavan-Darien High School) won the meet and Kelsey Timm (Oconomowoc/Lake Country Lutheran High School) was ninth.

Whipple and the Green Knights will compete at the NCAA Division III regionals on Nov. 13 at Augustana (Ill.) College. The race will be at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.
