Madison Memorial snaps Marshfield boys basketball winning streak at eight

MADISON – The Marshfield boys basketball team had its eight-game winning streak snapped after suffering a 53-50 nonconference loss at Madison Memorial on Saturday.

The Tigers trailed by three in the final seconds before an offensive foul called on Chase Hinson with three seconds left gave the ball back to Memorial and the Spartans were able to run out the clock.

Marshfield made 12 3-pointers, five each by Brooks Hinson (17 points) and Chase Hinson (15 points), but were just 5-for-19 from the paint in the loss as the Tigers fall to 8-4.

Brayden Blue had five 3-pointers and 18 points to lead Memorial (8-7).

Marshfield plays a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at Merrill on Tuesday.
