Marshfield wrestling sweeps all matches to defeat Stevens Point, ties for WVC regular-season title

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield wrestling team swept all 14 matches to defeat Stevens Point 72-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

The win, combined with Wausau West’s victory over Wisconsin Rapids, creates a three-way tie for the regular-season Wisconsin Valley Conference championship. Marshfield, West and Rapids all finish the dual meet season with a 5-1 record. The overall title will be settled at the WVC Tournament on Feb. 5 at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield won six matches by forfeit and three by pin, from Camren Dennee at 170 pounds, James Clements at 220, and Ava Gardner at 106.
