Columbus Catholic baseball rolls past Owen-Withee

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team won its third-straight game to start the season, rolling past Owen-Withee 11-1 in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener Monday at Jack Hackman Field.

Columbus Catholic scored twice in each of the first two innings and put the game away with a seven-run third to improve to 3-0 this season. Owen-Withee is now 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Emmitt Konieczny and Brock Bennington each had a triple, an RBI and two runs scored, and Xane Adlers added a double and an RBI for the Dons.

Cy Becker picked up the win for Columbus, striking out nine in four innings.

Columbus Catholic hosts Greenwood and Owen-Withee will be at home against Loyal on Tuesday.
