Auburndale boys finish second, Spencer third at Spencer Pickett Track Invitational

SPENCER – The Auburndale boys won four events and Columbus Catholic’s Andrew Scheer was a double-winner again at the Brian Pickett Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at Spencer High School.

Neillsville won the boys team championship with nine event wins and 207 points, with Auburndale second with 146, Spencer third with 89.5 and Columbus Catholic fifth with 42.

Loyal won seven events on its way to the girls team title with 189 points. Neillsville was second with 132.5, Auburndale fourth with 66.5, Columbus Catholic sixth with 30 and Spencer seventh with 28.

Terrance Roberson won a pair of races to lead the Auburndale boys. He took first in the 100 meters in 10.93 seconds and the 200 in 22.50 seconds.

The Auburndale boys also picked up wins from the 1,600 relay team of Ian Grosskopf, Charles Jewell, Adam Kundinger and Alex Mikes (3:46.70) and Jesse Fowler in the discus (146-10).

Scheer won the 1,600 in 4:45.70 and the 3,200 in 10:18.01 to continue his solid season for Columbus Catholic.

Spencer earned a pair of wins as Kyle Nieman won the boys pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, and Emily Wehrman took first in the girls 1,600 in 6:40.64.

Julia Seekamp earned the Auburndale girls lone victory as she won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.70 seconds.
