Northland Pines slugs past Auburndale in WIAA Division 3 baseball regional quarterfinal

AUBURNDALE – Northland Pines scored multiple runs in three different innings and defeated Auburndale 10-4 in a WIAA Division 3 baseball regional quarterfinal on Thursday at Auburndale High School.

The two teams exchanged two runs each in the second inning before Northland Pines began to pull way, putting up three runs in the fourth inning and four in the sixth to take a 10-3 lead.

Tim Schmitt had a single, a double and drove in two for Auburndale, which finishes the season with a 13-9 record.

No. 5 seed Northland Pines (10-13) moves on to a regional semifinal at No. 1 seed Stratford (16-5) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
