ROSHOLT – Terrance Roberson will go to the state meet in four events and be joined by a number of teammates after Auburndale earned six top-four finishes at the WIAA Division 3 track & field sectional on Thursday at Rosholt High School.
Roberson won the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 10½ inches, finished third in the 100 meters in 11.31 seconds and fourth in the 200 in 22.96 to earn berths at the WIAA State Track & Field Championships, which will be held June 3-4 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Roberson also teamed with Parker Empey, Austin Quinlan and Gavin White Eagle to finish fourth in the 400 relay (45.12) to grab another state meet slot.
Auburndale had two other state qualifiers as Jesse Fowler won the discus with a throw of 147-2, and the 3,200 relay team of Ian Grosskopf, Mason White Eagle, Alex Mikes and Charles Jewell, which was fourth in 8:38.77.
