Marshfield Junior Legion wins wild one over Marquette

ANTIGO – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team scored nine times in the final three innings to win a slugfest over Marquette (Mich.) 18-11 in its final game at the three-day Antigo Junior Legion Tournament on Sunday.

Marshfield trailed 10-9 after a wild first three innings before pulling away late to finish the tournament 2-2 and move its season record to 6-11.

Chase Robinson went 4-for-4 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored to pace the Marshfield offense.

Jakob Sadowska had two hits, two RBI and four runs scored, Adam Gilbertson had two hits and three RBI, and leadoff hitter Vance Kielman had a hit, three walks and scored five times for the Junior Devils.

Robinson also picked up the win on the mound, allowing one run in the final five innings with eight strikeouts.

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field. The Senior game will follow.
