Marshfield Junior Legion baseball holds off late rally to defeat D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team extended its winning streak to three with a wild 11-10 win over D.C. Everest on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

Marshfield led 11-7 after a four-run sixth inning before D.C. Everest mounted a rally, scoring three times in the top of the seventh before Chase Robinson struck out a batter with the tying run on second base to end the threat.

Vance Kielman earned the win for the Junior Devils (8-11), allowing six runs in 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts. He also had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.

Aden Cherney went 3-for4 with two RBI, and Jack Tubbs and Riley Kroening each had two hits, with Tubbs driving in two, for Marshfield. Ian Brown also had two RBI in the victory.

Marshfield will play a doubleheader at Chippewa Falls on Saturday starting at noon.
