Columbus Catholic soccer blows out Northland Lutheran

MARSHFIELD – Grant Olson and Alex Edwards each had a hat trick as the Columbus Catholic soccer team destroyed Northland Lutheran 9-0 in a Central Wisconsin Conference matchup Thursday at Griese Park.

Both completed their hat tricks in the first half, and Mason Edwards added another goal for the Dons as they raced out to a 7-0 lead by halftime.

Mira Torbey and Josh Weiland each chipped in goals in the second half as Columbus Catholic finished off the shutout victory as it outshot the Wildcats 18-1 overall and 12-0 on goal.

Olson also had three assists, Charlie Moore and Cade Jansen each had two, and Torbey and Nathan Nemitz both had one as well.

Columbus Catholic improves to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the CWC and will be back in action Tuesday at Gresham/Bowler.
