Columbus Catholic volleyball cruises to home win over Neillsville

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic and Neillsville volleyball teams came into Thursday’s match at Columbus Catholic High School as the last two undefeated teams in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.

The Dons left showing they are still the team to be reckoned with.

Columbus Catholic rolled to a 3-0 sweep of Neillsville to improve to 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East as it attempts to win its sixth-straight conference championship.

The Dons won 25-14, 25-13, 25-13, behind a balanced offensive attack.

Courtney Sommer, Gracie Wilczek and Aaliyah Krenn each had seven kills, and Sommer added 14 assists, nine digs and three service aces in the win for the Dons.

Izzy Hoglund had 12 digs, Mattea Schlafke added 10 digs and three aces, and Lily Stratman had nine assists as well for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus Catholic will compete at the Medford Invitational on Saturday.
