WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Amherst boys and Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls were the team winners at the seven-team Assumption Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Tri-City Golf Course.
The Stratford boys finished third and the Auburndale boys were fourth, while the Stratford girls were runner-ups to Assumption. Auburndale had just one runner compete.
Connor Sheahan of Athens won the boys race in 16:46, 25 seconds ahead of runner-up Max Voss of Amherst. Cree DeFoe of Stratford was third in 17:48.
Mason White Eagle led the Auburndale boys, taking ninth in 18:07.
Lucy Dolan of Assumption won the girls race in 19:54, eight seconds in front of teammate Jordyn Jaglinski.
Kayla Capserson was sixth (21:28), Breleigh Skaya took eighth (21:54) and Ella Heidmann was ninth (21:58) as the Stratford girls finished with three top-10 finishes.
Auburndale’s lone runner, Hope Schulte, finished 11th in 22:47.
