APPLETON – The Marshfield volleyball team finished 3-1 to take second place at the Appleton East Invitational on Saturday.
Marshfield defeated Chilton 25-13, 25-20, and Bay Port 18-25, 25-21, 15-9, in pool play. In the Gold Bracket, the Tigers defeated Appleton East 25-14, 25-21, before losing the championship match to Green Bay Southwest 28-26, 19-25, 15-5.
Caitlyn Pernsteiner had 29 kills, Abby Ongna added 27 kills and 21 digs, Elise Uphoff had a team-best 30 digs, and Reinya Balderson had 73 assists and four service aces in Marshfield’s four matches.
Marshfield hosts Wisconsin Rapids for a Wisconsin Valley Conference match Thursday at 7 p.m.
