Edgar sweeps Stratford volleyball, clinches outright Marawood South title

EDGAR – Edgar wrapped up the outright Marawood Conference South Division volleyball championship with a 3-0 sweep of Stratford in the conference finale for both teams on Tuesday at Edgar High School.

Edgar won 25-21, 25-22, 25-20, to win its first outright conference title in program history. Edgar had shared the Marawood championship with Pittsville in 1989 and the North Division title with Abbotsford in 2003.

Kalyn Schueller had 10 kills and 16 digs, Emerson Roy had 12 assists, Ava Weix had 22 digs and Sonia Peterson added 12 digs for Stratford.

Stratford will host Marshfield in a nonconference match Thursday before finishing its regular season Oct. 11 at the Marawood Conference Crossover Challenge at Marathon.
