WESTON – Stratford had 11 top-six finishes, including three champions, and won the team title at the 66th annual Fred Lehrke Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest High School.
The Tigers finished with 392 points to win the team championship, with D.C. Everest taking second with 336. Auburndale had three champions as well and tied for seventh with 222 points, and Spencer/Columbus tied for 10th with 93 at the 12-team tournament.
Colin Cournoyer (22-4 at 113 pounds), Trenton Cournoyer (22-4 at 120) and Jackson Ormond (26-1 at 195) each won individual titles for Stratford.
Ryan Becker (21-9) was second at 152 and Carter Lueck (23-5) finished runner-up at 182, while Jesse Bauer (12-4 at 106) and Sawyer Grabow (13-7 at 145) both took third place for the Tigers.
Derek Godard (24-6 at 106), Colton Weiler (26-3 at 132) and Sloan Welch (26-1 at 220) all won individual titles for Auburndale. Adam Dorshorst ended up fourth at 195, and Zade Grassel (120) and Wyatt Malsin (145) both took fifth for the Eagles.
Cole Hanson improved to 13-4 as he placed third at 220 pounds for Spencer/Columbus. Mason Wolf took sixth at 126 and Fletcher Post was seventh at 106 for the Rockets.
Stratford will host a quadrangular, which includes Auburndale, on Friday starting at 5 p.m. Spencer/Columbus will be at a Cloverbelt Conference triangular at Neillsville on Thursday.
