Columbus Catholic girls basketball dominates first half, defeats Spencer

MARSHFIELD – Hailey Zimmermann scored 21 points to pace the Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 56-29 win over Spencer in Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons held Spencer to just 10 points in the first half and opened up an 18-point lead, which it pushed to 27 by game’s end.

Jenna Kibbel added 13 points for Columbus Catholic, which improves to 10-8 overall and 7-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Autumn Davis scored 12 points and Alexa Weber had six for Spencer (2-11, 2-5 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer hosts Loyal on Friday, while Columbus Catholic is off until Friday, Jan. 27, when it plays a nonconference game at Rib Lake.
