Spencer girls basketball drops road game at Gilman

GILMAN – The Spencer girls basketball team couldn’t overcome a slow start and dropped a Cloverbelt Conference East Division contest to Gilman 42-34 on Friday night at Gilman High School.

The Pirates pulled out to a 21-11 lead by halftime, and although Spencer outscored Gilman in the second half, the Rockets weren’t able to close the gap.

Autumn Davis had 12 points for Spencer (2-15, 2-8 Cloverbelt East).

Gilman (10-7, 7-5 Cloverbelt East) made six 3-pointers and had three players in double figures. Tatum Weir had 15 points, Danielle Mann added 13 and Kayleigh James scored 10 for the Pirates.

Spencer’s next game is Tuesday at Greenwood.
