Marshfield boys hockey nails down road win at D.C. Everest

WESTON – The Marshfield boys hockey team earned its second Wisconsin Valley Conference victory of the season, defeating D.C. Everest 4-1 on Tuesday night at Greenheck Fieldhouse at D.C. Everest High School.

Charlie Kenney and Joey Cashmer scored to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead early in the second period. After a D.C. Everest goal by Kole Ress at the 2:55 mark, Noah Peterson restored Marshfield’s lead to two with a goal later in the period.

Cashmer added an insurance goal in the third period to provide the final margin for the Tigers, who improve to 11-10 overall and 2-6 in the WVC.

Cole Halvorsen saves 31 of 32 shots he face in goal for Marshfield.

Both teams return to action Thursday with Wisconsin Valley Conference games. Marshfield will be at Wisconsin Rapids and D.C. Everest will host first-place Stevens Point.
