WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls basketball team limited Wausau East to just seven made field goals and cruised to a 65-23 win in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Thursday night at East High School.

Marshfield rolled out to a 40-11 lead by halftime and was able to build on that in the second half to improve to 17-4 overall and 9-1 in the WVC this season.

Dani Minsaas had 20 points and Ayana Bousum added 15 for the Tigers, who shot 50 percent overall (24-for-48) and 3-point range (7-for-14).

Hailey Valiska topped East (4-16, 2-8 WVC) with seven points.

Marshfield’s next game is Monday at home against Chippewa Falls.
